This annual regatta pays tribute to the deeply rooted sailing history in the Town of Manteo. Held the last Saturday in July, this regional regatta is open to Optimist, 420, Sunfish, and Topaz sailboats . There is both a youth and an adult division because playing on the water is fun for all ages!
For landlubbers, watch the race from one of the park benches in Washington Creef Park or sit on one of the docks on the bay. There is no such thing as a bad view in downtown Manteo!

Schedule For Manteo Regatta:
Friday 12-6pm: Final Practice and boat loading
Sat 7am: Leaving Sailing center with boats / trailers heading to manteo
Sat 8am: Arrive, unpack boats; rigged and ready by 9am for practice
Sat 9am-11am: Practice / Chalk Talk / Eat Brunch
Sat 11:00am: Skippers Meeting
Sat 12:00pm: First Whistle
Sat 3:30pm: Awards ceremony
Sat 4pm: Packing up boats / leaving for home
