Introduction
Beau Phillips grew up sailing from birth because his family works in the sailing industry. Prior to sailing in the Opti Program at Hatteras Sailing, Beau always was ready for helping his father to do rigging work, crew on various charter boats, and help teach new kids how to sail. Beau loves to go up the mast in a bolsuns chair. Beau has several years of Opti experience under his belt now starting when he was 6 years old when Hatteras Sailing was founded by his parents Jay and Meg in 2020. Currently Beau sails Opti Red for Hatteras Sailing and is participating in Hampton Yacht Clubs Team Racing Training this Spring. In addition to Opti Sailing, Beau helps fill in as skipper on a 420 for the High School Sailing Program Practices and has sailed 2 major Melges 24 Regattas as Crew with his family. At the age of 11 he is filling out an impressive sailing resume already !
