1. MOTION:
   • Amy Hakola moves to nominate Nathan Snead to Vice Chair, Bob Moscowitz to Member at Large
   • passed unanimously
2. MOTION:
   • Amy Hakola moves for Jay Crawford to replace Erin on the board as member at large
   • Erin agrees
   • passed unanimously
3. MOTION:
   • Jay moves to Host an annual fall One Design regatta in September
   • passed unanimously
4. MOTION:
   • Erin moved to approve the proposed Fall 2021 Sailing Schedule;
   • Jay moved to raise session rate; board agrees on $60 members / $150 non-members

5. MOTION:
   • Jay moves that Hatteras Sailing moves operations to the new Fish House location adjacent to Hatteras Boatyard Property
   • passed unanimously
   • note: Fall session opening party on Sep 4th will be the first meeting hosted at the new location
6. MOTION:
   • Jay moves to nominate MSP Media as the program’s media provider and name Meg Phillips as the Program Director of Hatteras Sailing
   • passed unanimously

Discussion Points

1. What shall we call ourselves?
   • Hatteras Community Sailing is to remain the official organization name
   • Group agrees to Burgee design with no club letters
   • Meg commits to prepare a full brand package
   • Vest letters to be HATT
2. Travel regatta opportunities are to be published seasonally as early as possible
   • Fall travel regatta opportunity Charleston, SC 2021 Southeast Regional Championship
   • Ideally we would love to be in a position to help the sailors travel once more session to a fun educational spot and provide the school with the paperwork needed to get school credit as needed. For now, these opportunities will be presented together with pricing and a cost and fundraising plan for each event.
   • Note that all board agrees to promote and host local regattas as often as we can to give more opportunities to race without travel and to promote Hatteras as a sailing destination
3. Fall Registration to open today at the new prices as approved by the board.
4. Day at the docks: board agrees to attend the event and nominates Nathan Snead as the chair of the planning with Meg to help with the detailed execution
5. Fundraising Committee:
   • Amy and board agree that invitational sailing members need to commit to time fundraising and/or money to compete and maintain the boats and program
   • As program director, Meg commits to plan fundraising event opportunities and the needed coordination and marketing materials, but cannot commit to being the chairman of the committee
   • Nathan rightly points out that our new roadside location offers great opportunity for bake sales, BBQ, etc during peak season.

August 2021

• August 7th: End of Summer Party
  • Propose a full day Saturday event with the following plans; Canadian hole is a great location with high visibility for the club. There is plenty of parking and people can come and go through the day. We can set up times for each event within the event ending the day with a BBQ on the beach and awards ceremony
    • Invitational inter-club race; Intermediate inter-club race; Beginner demonstration of skills
    • Awards and graduations for juniors to the next level
    • Open registration for Fall Sailing
    • Review with whole club events and regattas planned for fall
