Life Vests or PFDs
Choose a vest style life vest that is comfortable to wear all the time for extended lengths of time (8+hrs). Sailing kids get so comfortable wearing the good PFDs that they forget they have them on. Features you are looking for:
- tight fit with strong shoulders so it is easy to pull the person back on board after a capsize
- comfortable cool fit with little to no chafing at the arms
- size zip or overhead vest style
- minimal straps/clips that can get caught on boat rigging
