Travel Regatta Scholarship

Equal to the cost of one child’s expenses to travel to an away regatta. A typical regatta will cost the team around $300 per student and includes money for
– regatta coaching
– travel to trailer the boats to the event
– hotel expenses
– food during the event and travel
A typical sailing season will include 5 away regattas scheduled throughout the fall and spring of a school year. The conference rules state that varsity teams must compete in 5 of 7 annual regattas to be eligible for the conference trophies. Regatta locations range from South Florida to North Carolina.

How are scholarship’s awarded?

Our scholarship’s are provided to youth sailors who who apply through our application process. Scholarships awards are recommended by the program director and approved by the board.  Recipients are chosen on merit, but sailors must apply to be awarded a scholarship. The only need-based criteria considered is that the applicant apply for a scholarship.

The Program director will be recommending those applicants who show a history of good character, follow-through, and diligence in academics, other sports, and/or extra-curricular activities.
