Spring Season Session starts off Saturday April 2 with the Traditional Beach Party! But there is much help needed to make it the best season of all for Hatteras Sailing participants and their parents! If you can help out, please let us know.
List of Areas where we need Manpower
- Cleaning up and repairing the Optimist Fleet from Park City
- Returning Optis to Colington
- Repairing Docks and Bulkheads at the Sailing Center
- Distributing Flyers and Posters, Talking to Church Youth Group Leaders to announce Training programs and other community and school groups
- Planning and Preparations for Opening Day – Food Drinks, Party Favors, Powerboats, Beer and Wine, etc.
- Help on the Stiletto prep for the season! We use these boats a lot for regatta committee boats
- Engine Repairs and Tune Ups
- Inflatable Repairs and Clean Up
- Modifications to the Coaches Cottage at the Fish House
- Floor Repairs to Cement Slab at Fish House
- Piling Replacements under the Water Overhang addition
- New Doors and Windows in certain area
- Roof Repairs to the Building
- Yard Maintenance and Clean up
- Bulkhead Repairs – Sealing Bulkhead Leaks and patching up the old bulkhead
- Bulkhead Preparations for Dockage – Cutting off Bolt ends and putting up rub rail
- Dockage Preparation
- Exterior Pressure Washing and Painting
- Railing off the Cement Sidewalk
- Ramp Cleanup
- Community lobbying Mr. Danny and Darren Burrus to help instead of hinder closing on the property by not arguing over property lines!!!!!!! We have offered to give away some parking lot in exchange for the boatramp and needed setback.
