Design, Build, and Race Your Own Boat
This is the registration to enter your home built boat design into the 2023 Wind n’ Waves Hatteras Boat Builder’s Race. The Boatbuilders Challenge is to build your own boat according the competition rules and compete again other registrants to race your boat as well as other awards for creativity, innovation, presentation and execution!
The Event is part of the 2023 Wind N Waves One Design Sailing Festival and is intended to be a fun event for the entire community of the Outer Banks. There is no age limit or team size limit. You do not need to be a regular Hatteras Sailor or know how to sail.

- get advice from a local boat builder, surf board shaper, etc
- come prepared to race

- no motors
- no resin
- no fiberglass
- no wood
- no pre-built boats
- kids and parents can work together on the boat
