Cost: There is some cost to participating in this program for several reasons. We hope to find some grants and attract more volunteers, but the program is not currently paid for by any other means than participation fees which help cover the following expenses a bit: a waterfront training location, coaching, insurance, special boats and safety boats, jerseys and more. Hatteras Sailing does its best to subsidize the cost depending on how much is supported by sponsors and community supporters, participants help with fundraising is something that will only help the program become more affordable. Currently Costs are pro-rated based on the number of sailors in each school’s team which means that the price goes down if its divided up by more participants. You can toggle the drop down registration fields below to see what that means for each sailor. Total operastional costs are $400 per practice; $1000 per regatta and for the most part this is divided up by the number of participants.
