Anytime Sailing Camp for teens, college, adults

Price Per Person: $500

• Ages:  13-18 or Adults
• 4-8 campers in each camp
• 3hrs each day from 9am – noon
• Swimming, playing, paddling, learning to sail C420 or Flying Scot
• Sometimes sail the big boats or go on the deadrise
• Private camps can mix teens / adults from same family group; Otherwise it is either adult camp or teen camp

What are we learning?

We learn basics of sailing on the same boats our sailing team sail and we get out on the big boats too. A week of jam packed water sports fun.Taught by Hatteras Sailing Coaches and junior sailors as assistant coaches. We learn to sail and have lots of fun with a variety of activities including. Each day of camp includes chalk talk, land drills, instructor demonstration, on the water instruction, snack time, and a de-brief. While we aim to offer a variety of instructional activities, nothing is a substitute for getting into a boat and learning to sail. The main focus of all our instructional activities will be maximizing time on the water. We play and experience a variety of boats depending on the weather conditions.

Learn to sail camps will be lead by a trained Optimist Coach. We will focus on basic knowledge, safety, and boat handling skills. We have fun and our goal is that your sailor will leave the week wanting to come back and sail again with us or at your local sailing club back home. Each sailor is provided with a skills progression chart that the coaches will use to communicate with the parents. As the student masters the skills, coaches will initial sign off on that skill.

Weather Policy: We try to move and groove through the week to find weather and match the instructional hours. Once we start camp, no partial refunds and we work on alternate days/times or alternate material that can be accomplished in the current weather.
